Lazia, 5 July 2026 — The states of the Batyr Bloc, with a number of allied media organisations, have agreed to breathe new life into the Van der Huijsen-Çakar Press Association — the joint press body established alongside the bloc itself — as a working association serving Mahuset, Hasanistan, Brennonia, Knuffeldierland and friendly partners.
The association draws together the principal news outlets of the Batyr states — among them the Courant van Lazia, the Lazian Newswire, the Mahusetan Broadcasting Service, the Batyr Times and the national press of Brennonia and Knuffeldierland — alongside friendly partner media from the wider Community of Small Nations.
It is to allow member outlets to share insights and articles, pooling coverage of significant events. Shared material is to be re-edited by each receiving title rather than republished wholesale, so that every medium retains its own independent voice. The association is also to provide shared infrastructure for high-quality journalism, letting even the smallest member cover important events to a standard none could achieve alone.
The body takes its name from the two figures at the heart of the Batyr Bloc's oldest alliance, Chad Lord-Stadtholder Emiel van der Huijsen of Mahuset and Chad Hasan Çakar of Hasanistan. "A free press is stronger when it works together," the lord-stadtholder said. "This association exists to share resources, infrastructure and insight — never to dictate a single voice. Every title that joins remains its own master."
