Lazia, 9 December 2018 — The Lazian Chamber has passed a series of measures, including a ban on male genital mutilation, by 7 votes to 1 with two abstentions, a ban on breed-specific dog legislation by 5 to 2, and a ban on affirmative action by 6 to 2. The chamber also split the anti-corruption body off from the government.
The measures were among a run passed by the Lazian Chamber in a single sitting, alongside a ban on breed-specific dog legislation and the hiving-off of the anti-corruption function into a separate foundation. The same December session — and the wider debate over social legislation around it, including a ban on the Dutch awareness day Purple Friday — helped sharpen the divisions that would culminate in the co-founder XO’s departure.
