Lazia, 1 October 2017 — The Lazian Chamber has voted to recognise Catalonia as an independent state in the event of a successful Catalan independence referendum — passed on the day Catalonia held its disputed vote. A parallel motion to recognise Iraqi Kurdistan was rejected.
The motion, passed on the very day Catalonia held its disputed independence referendum, committed Mahuset to recognising the region should the vote succeed. A parallel motion to recognise Iraqi Kurdistan, which had held its own referendum days earlier, was rejected.
