Lazia, 22 October 2019 — The National Convention of 2019 has ratified the Edgbaston Convention, an international treaty expanding on the Wrythe Convention that Mahuset ratified in March. Originally signed on 28 June 2019, it declares its opposition to “faux citizenship”, false territorial claims and other false and fraudulent claims within micronationalism; unlike the Wrythe Convention, which singled out James Klaassen-White, it names no specific individual.
As with its ratification of the Wrythe Convention, the Confederation cast its signature as a matter of solidarity. Mahuset has always opposed falsification and fraud within the micronational community, maintaining an informal policy of avoiding interaction with entities suspected or proven to engage in such conduct; its decision to sign, it said, was made to stand with other nations opposing such actions.
