Government hardens anti-GUM policy with new agency

Lazia, 28 February 2026 — The government has strengthened its anti-GUM framework, transferring responsibility for policy on the Grand Unified Micronational from the foreign ministry to a new body, IB-CONTRA (Internationale Bond tegen de Invloed van de GUM).

The agency will run the "You Can Say No to GUM Influence" campaign and the related day of remembrance. In parallel, the Lazian Chamber has made seeking GUM membership a censurable offence, with sanctions ranging from suspension to, in exceptional cases, removal and exile.
