Mamucium, 8 June 2020 — The Ashukov leader Edward Jacobs — described by reputable sources as a troll and an adherent of “incel” ideology — is thought to be behind an anti-Hasanistani Twitter account, “RogueHasanistan”, that has attacked the Hasanistani leader and dual Mahusetan citizen Hasan Çakar.

Created in May, and first posting on 25 May, the account has accused Çakar of being a fascist, of oppressing “the LGBTQI+ community” and of incompetence. Hasanistan’s official account, “HHukumeti”, has urged users to ignore it, calling it “Ashukov-Mouzilo-Montescanin-run disinformation propaganda” and naming Jacobs and the prominent Ashukov-Mouzeliot figure Manolis Afentoulis as those behind it.

Mouzilo has denied involvement and accused Çakar of lying, though the official Hasanistani account has posted what it presents as substantial evidence of Ashukov-Mouzeliot involvement: the convenient coincidence of Jacobs resuming anti-Hasanistani rhetoric as the account appeared, an early post “liked” by the official Mouzeliot account, and a marked similarity of writing style. Confronted, Jacobs replied on Twitter with a characteristically intemperate message accusing Çakar of drug abuse.

Mahuset condemned the account as “a sad piece of GUM-sponsored xenophobic anti-Hasani disinformation”, expressing its support for Hasanistan and its opposition to misinformation. On 3 June Hasanistan reiterated that the account should not be taken seriously and was not known to be run by any Hasanistani citizen.
