Lazia, 11 February 2020 — The capital cities of Mahuset and Hasanistan, Lazia and Deñizabat — two nations of close historical friendship — have agreed to declare each other sister cities, an arrangement expected to strengthen Hasani-Mahusetan relations at the local level.
A sister-cities, or twin-towns, arrangement is a partnership between two settlements for the promotion of cultural collaboration and exchange. Prime Minister Lord Hasan Çakar, Beglerbeg of Deñizabat, praised the twinning: “This will strengthen our friendship and allow greater understanding between these two great nations.” President Emiel van der Huijsen agreed, calling it, as between “nations that have experienced close ties for quite a few years now”, a “significant gesture towards strengthening the friendship and understanding between our two countries”.
