Lazia, 25 July 2026 — Chad Emiel van der Huijsen, the Lord-Stadtholder, has extended the congratulations of the Confederation of Mahuset to Emperor Johannes Karl I Augustus of Austenasia on his coronation, held at York on the same day.

Chad Emiel van der Huijsen extends the Confederation's greetings to Emperor Johannes Karl I Augustus of Austenasia, and reaffirms Mahuset's recognition of his throne.

In a message issued from Lazia, the Lord-Stadtholder conveyed “the warm and fraternal greetings of the Confederation and its people” to the Emperor, his House and the Austenasian nation, and wished His Imperial Majesty “a long, peaceful and prosperous reign”.
The message reflects a relationship of some standing. In May the Lord-Stadtholder conferred the title of Chad upon Johannes Karl, then styled King of the Angle-Saxish Kingdom and heir to the Austenasian throne; the two states have shared the territory of New North Scotland since 2025. The Confederation, officials said, counts Austenasia among the friendships it most values in the community of nations.
The greetings are addressed to Johannes Karl as Emperor of Austenasia — a recognition the Confederation extends to him and not to the rival claim advanced from austenasia.org, where a self-styled Emperor Alexander VI contests the throne. Mahuset’s position, an official said, is settled: it deals with the government crowned at York, and with no other.
The coronation, at York, was recorded in a documentary narrated by Colin Baker, the Sixth Doctor. The Lord-Stadtholder’s office confirmed that the message had been dispatched on the day of the ceremony, and expressed the hope that the ties between Mahuset and Austenasia “would deepen in the reign now begun”.
