Lazia, 5 July 2026 — Chad Chase Mahoning has been appointed Vorsitzender of the Abeldane Heritage Institute, taking the chairmanship of the body charged with preserving the history, language and traditions of the Abeldane Empire. Chad Damian Billbrough has been named Stellvertreter, and will serve as his deputy.
The two titles — Vorsitzender, or chairman, and Stellvertreter, his deputy — reflect the German character of Abeldane public life, in which the offices of state and its cultural institutions alike are named in the imperial tongue. The Institute occupies a familiar place in the Empire’s civic architecture, gathering and safeguarding the records, customs and heritage that a young state accumulates and is anxious not to lose.
The appointments were followed with interest in Lazia, where the Confederation of Mahuset maintains cordial relations with the Abeldane Empire and a long-standing regard for the wider German-speaking micronational tradition. Chad Mahoning assumes the chair with Chad Billbrough at his side; between them they inherit the unglamorous but consequential work of deciding what a nation chooses to remember.
