Lazia, 11 March 2023 — The Confederation of Mahuset has adopted new titles for its two highest offices: the head of state, until now styled president, becomes the Lord-Stadtholder, and the office of prime minister is renamed Lord-Grand Pensionary.
Chad Emiel van der Huijsen, the Confederation's founder and head of state, accordingly assumes the title of Lord-Stadtholder. The premiership, held by Chad Chase Mahoning, King of Brennonia, becomes the office of Lord-Grand Pensionary; the deputy prime minister, Chad Hasan Çakar, becomes Deputy Lord-Grand Pensionary. Each office carries a formal style — Mahoning's now reads "His Excellency, the Right Honourable Gentleman Chad Lord-Grand Pensionary of the Confederation of Mahuset Chase Mahoning".
The new titles are drawn from the offices of the historical Dutch Republic — the stadtholder (Dutch: stadhouder) and the grand pensionary (raadpensionaris) — and form part of a wider turn by the Confederation towards traditional Dutch republican nomenclature. The Dutch renderings of the new offices were given as Lord-Stadhouder and Lord-Raadspensionaris.
