Lazia, 30 September 2020 — The Confederation of Mahuset has declared its neutrality in the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh, and has withdrawn its recognition of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.

The move follows the outbreak, on 27 September, of renewed fighting over the disputed region — the hostilities that would become known as the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War. The Confederation had recognised Nagorno-Karabakh in November 2016, as part of a broader recognition of post-Soviet breakaway states.
