Lazia, 23 May 2026 — The government has introduced the Ethical Gooning Initiative (EGI), offering privacy-preserving age verification for adults accessing regulated digital content, as an alternative to identity-based checks.
Five-use verification cards, priced at ƒ25, will be sold through Vicesysteem stores, the MNU University Store and partnered retailers. Each card carries anonymous tokens confirming a user is over 18 without disclosing personal data; the Ministry for General Affairs framed the scheme as "harm reduction, digital dignity, and data minimisation".
