Lazia, 29 July 2026 — Mahuset has been knocked out of the Slopfest 2026 Intermicronational Haxball World Cup, losing its quarter-final to Tymbarc 5–2 at Duck Island, Yotamistan, on 28 July.
It was the national side's first defeat of the tournament. Mahuset had won Group E outright, beating Hortania 12–1 on 16 June and Ludzervirk 11–1 on 20 June and advancing when Knuffeldierland withdrew, finishing the group stage with twenty-three goals scored and two conceded.
Tymbarc arrived in the last eight as the best-placed runner-up, having taken six points from Group B behind Stanland. Its campaign there included an 11–1 win over the Pearson Republic and a 3–2 win over Kipstania.
MOC*MSF, which organises Mahusetan participation, said the result reflected the run of play. “Tymbarc played better,” a spokesperson said. “They were quicker to the ball, they took their chances, and they deserved to go through. There is no complaint to make and no excuse to offer.”
Elsewhere in the knockout stage, Minaki beat the Independent Team 4–3 in the playoff round on 29 July, and lost 10–0 to Brennonia in the quarter-finals later the same day. Two quarter-finals remain to be played: Hasanistan against the winner of the other playoff tie, and Stanland against Nesea.
Tymbarc goes through to the semi-finals. The federation congratulated it on reaching the last four and said Mahuset would follow the remainder of the tournament “with interest and good will”.
