Lazia, 22 June 2026 — Mahuset has advanced to the quarter-finals of the Slopfest 2026 Intermicronational Haxball World Cup after a dominant group-stage campaign.
The national side defeated Hortania 12–1 and Lidzerwork 11–1 before securing progression when Knuffeldierland resigned from its fixture. Officials described the results as "a clear demonstration of movement, timing, ball control, and the regrettable consequences of visible skill issues".
The tournament, organised by the MOCMSF — the Mahusetan Olympic Committee Mahusetan Sports Federation — is being played in a one-on-one Haxball format and includes participants from both the Batyr Bloc and the wider Community of Small Nations.
An MOC*MSF official said Mahuset had entered the competition in a spirit of friendship, but added that "friendship does not require pretending that 12–1 is a close-run constitutional question". "The results speak for themselves," the official said. "At a certain point the ball, the wall, and the scoreboard have all issued their own joint statement."
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport and Science welcomed the qualification, saying the results reflected the growing role of online sporting events in micronational public life. "Haxball is not merely a browser game," the ministry said. "It is a theatre of movement, timing, humiliation and occasionally legitimate sporting achievement."
The National Convention of 2019 praised the team's performance and said the quarter-final appearance represented "a substantial contribution to national morale and a serious warning to anyone still treating the tournament as casual digital recreation". The Chadly Chancery is expected to consider whether exceptional performances may qualify for later civic recognition, provided that future goals are not immediately offset by avoidable incompetence.
