Lazia, 7 July 2020 — The Confederation of Mahuset will hold an open forum on a potential ban on Chinese-owned social-media platforms, among them TikTok, WeChat, Zoom and Reddit, citing concerns over censorship and privacy. President Emiel van der Huijsen said he had called the forum "instead of just banning them outright".

The forum was to weigh a ban on platforms including TikTok, WeChat, Zoom and Reddit, citing censorship and privacy concerns; the president said he had called it “instead of just banning them outright”. Such open forums, held in the Confederation’s Discord, became a recurring instrument of Mahusetan public consultation.
