The Confederation reverses a 2016 policy, days after condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Lazia, 6 March 2022 — The Confederation of Mahuset has withdrawn its recognition of Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Transnistria and Nagorno-Karabakh, reversing recognitions it extended in 2016.
In a statement, the government said it had "revoked recognition of the Republic of Abkhazia, the Republic of South Ossetia, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic".
The withdrawal came less than two weeks after the Confederation condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine. On 24 February, Chad Deputy Prime Minister Hasan Çakar said Mahuset "condemns the invasion of Ukraine, which violates international law and will lead to much human suffering", and called for "the end of the Russian invasion and return to the Minsk Agreement". Each of the four territories is a Russian-backed breakaway region.
The move reversed a policy the Confederation had adopted in November 2016, when the Lazian Chamber voted to recognise all four states — each recognition reported separately by the Courant van Lazia at the time.
