Lazia, 22 August 2024 — The Confederation of Mahuset has established two new military units, the Mahusetan Rangers and the Mahusetan Reserves, as part of a reorganisation of its armed forces.
The Mahusetan Rangers, formed under the Mahusetan Marechaussee, are to be responsible for special operations and unconventional warfare, and for providing a military presence in regions where stationing conventional army and law-enforcement units would not be practical or viable. The Mahusetan Reserves have been established as a joint military reserve spanning all six of the Confederation's service branches — the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, the Space Force, the Cyber Force and the Marechaussee — with a volunteer unit, the Mahusetan Dad's Army, created beneath them.
The units were among several formed the same day, which also saw an Army Special Services Unit established for explosives, unmanned vehicles and deterrence, and a Mahusetan Marine Corps created as a naval infantry force.
