Lazia, 30 August 2025 — The National Convention of 2019 has abolished the hierarchy of commissions that formed much of its deliberative machinery, in the first stage of a programme to consolidate government bodies and strengthen permanent ministries.
The bodies abolished include the Constitutional Commission of Law and three others criticised for overlapping responsibilities; a few were instead merged into the Council of State and the education ministry. The move marks a shift away from the National Convention's original extraconstitutional model.
