Lazia, 26 January 2020 — The online encyclopedia MicroWiki has been struck by a large wave of vandalism, in which trolls created a succession of accounts — under names such as “AdammiaFan44” and “Micronations.com” — to deface a range of articles, the official page of the Confederation of Mahuset among them.
Using a total of 17 accounts, the vandals defaced dozens of articles with insults, slurs and statements in support of the Grand Unified Micronational and the European Union — thought to be intended both to disrupt MicroWiki and to inflame anti-GUM sentiment within the National Convention of 2019.
The National Convention condemned the vandalism swiftly. “This vandalism has turned out to be a petty joke made by a group of bored trolls,” President Van der Huijsen said. “Our government’s policy won’t change in face of silly insults.”
