Lazia, 1 October 2017 — The nine-month federal government shutdown — intended to update Mahuset's representation on encyclopedias such as the Royal Wiki and MicroWiki, and to constitute and publish its laws — has come to an end.
One of the president's more controversial policies, the shutdown is said to have marked a turning point in Mahusetan politics, bringing growth in the membership of the Lazian Chamber and the Mahusetan Socialist-Democratic Party, an increase in diplomatic relations and a larger population. It was not without difficulty: two emergency sessions were held after a miscommunication with the Abeldane Empire, the Socialist-Democratic Party requested and then withdrew a referendum to join the Empire of Nedlando-Khorașan, and government inactivity had been rising.
