Lazia, 22 June 2019 — President Emiel van der Huijsen has confirmed that he will stand for Chair of the Konmalehth, whose elections for its two highest offices, Chair and Vice-Chair, are to be held between 27 and 29 June.
The incumbents, Chair Nicholas Randouler and Vice-Chair Nicholas Kaos, who have held their offices since the first election after Mahuset’s accession to the organisation, have both declined to stand again. Van der Huijsen, who had expressed interest in the post before declining to contest the previous election, had already been endorsed by Hasan Çakar, Stephen Freayth, Vilcho and Kaos himself; citing those endorsements and the absence of other candidates, he has now confirmed his run.
“The Konmalehth is a good organisation. It shows strong foreign policy, improves our mutual presence in other nations, and it also allows its members to pool cross-nation talent for larger ideas and projects,” he said. “The Konmalehth has most certainly succeeded in its goals, and I hope that my plans for reforming Independent Press General FM into a Konmalehth-wide press agency — serving news from across the Konmalehth to its members — and for the creation of a Konmalehth-wide broadcasting union emulating the European Broadcasting Union will succeed.”
