New York City, 1 July 2025 — Zohran Mamdani has secured the Democratic nomination for Mayor of New York City after the certification of the ranked-choice results, confirming a steady lead built on a platform of housing, transit and municipal reform.
Lord-Stadtholder Chad Emiel van der Huijsen congratulated him, wishing him "strength and wisdom in the months ahead". The general election is due in November.
