Lazia, 13 May 2017 — XO, of Matsia and the Mahusetan Socialist-Democratic Party, is to succeed Nuri van Dijk as prime minister, on the initiative of President Emiel van der Huijsen, in a move intended to bring the long government shutdown to an end.
The appointment, on the initiative of President Emiel van der Huijsen, was intended to help bring the Confederation’s long government shutdown to an end. XO — the founder of Matsia and a co-founder of Mahuset — led the Mahusetan left, and would go on to challenge Van der Huijsen for the presidency in the 2018 elections, before a widening rift over social policy culminated in his departure from the Confederation in 2019.
