Lazia, 21 December 2021 — The National Convention of 2019 has adopted Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus — the yoghurt bacterium — as the Confederation's official microbe.

In naming Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus — the bacterium behind yoghurt — as the Confederation’s official microbe, the National Convention added one of the more unusual entries to Mahuset’s roster of national symbols. The adoption came on the same day it stripped official status from the national folk dance, gemstone and stone.
