Lazia, 24 May 2026 — The Chadly Chancery has introduced the honorific "Gentlenyan" (Dutch: edelnyan) for cats serving in public office, under a decree by Chad Lord-Stadtholder Emiel van der Huijsen citing "the longstanding and distinguished participation of cats in the civic and emotional life of the Confederation".

The decree names "The Right Honourable Gentlenyan Thor, Lord-Mouser to the Executive Office" and makes Thor's birthday a national holiday, recognising his "cute and stunning appearance" and "symbolically significant mousing performance". Asked for comment, the Lord-Stadtholder responded with a GIF of an anime catgirl, which the Executive Office confirmed was authentic.

Edited for the relaunch of the Courant van Lazia.
