Referendum now required for transfers of sovereignty

Lazia, 13 April 2020 — The National Convention of 2019 has introduced a law requiring a referendum for any transfer of sovereignty from the Confederation to a separate entity. The law, which met no real opposition, is the first to require a referendum in specific circumstances; Mahusetans may otherwise request one by gathering the signatures of two-fifths of the population within 100 days.
