Labour won 411 of the 650 seats in the House of Commons, ending 14 years of Conservative government in one of the most decisive results in British parliamentary history.
The Conservative Party, led by the outgoing Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, suffered its worst defeat on record, winning 121 seats and losing strongholds across England, Scotland and Wales.
In Lazia the outcome was closely followed in government and civic circles. The United Kingdom remains a significant cultural and constitutional reference for the Confederation of Mahuset.
In a statement issued on the morning after the vote, Chad Lord-Stadtholder Emiel van der Huijsen extended Mahuset's congratulations to Starmer and to his party.
"The Confederation of Mahuset congratulates Prime Minister Starmer on his victory and wishes the people of the United Kingdom a period of renewed stability and constructive governance."
Starmer was expected to be appointed formally later the same day, following the kissing of hands with King Charles III at Buckingham Palace. His first appointments included Rachel Reeves as Chancellor of the Exchequer, the first woman to hold that office, and Angela Rayner as Deputy Prime Minister and Housing Secretary.
Analysts in Mahuset drew parallels with recent shifts in governance elsewhere in the Western world. Early commentary suggested the new government would face immediate domestic difficulties in economic stagnation and strained public services, albeit with a majority that gives it a clear mandate to act.
