Lazia, 16 October 2016 — The Mahusetan Institute for Ordnance Survey (Dutch: Mahusetaans Instituut voor Topografische Verkenning) has been established, responsible for mapping Mahuset and publishing those maps.

The institute was one of a cluster of bodies founded at the first full session of the Lazian Chamber, which also created institutes for standardisation, heraldry and the sciences. Charged with mapping the Confederation’s scattered territories, it formed part of Mahuset’s early effort to furnish itself with the ordinary instruments of a state.

Edited for the relaunch of the Courant van Lazia.
