Institute for the Sciences established

Lazia, 16 October 2016 — The Mahusetan Institute for the Sciences (Dutch: Mahusetaans Instituut voor de Wetenschappen) has been established, to function as a basic academy and research facility.

Intended to serve as a basic academy and research facility, the institute was among the first of a dozen the Confederation would eventually maintain. Most were folded in 2022 into a single Mahusetan National University, though the science institute’s early founding reflected the Confederation’s ambition to furnish itself with the full apparatus of a modern state.
