Lazia, 16 October 2016 — The Lazian Chamber has voted to recognise Somaliland, recognising its sovereignty over the northern half of the Horn of Africa.
Somaliland, the self-declared republic in the northern Horn of Africa, was among several partially recognised or unrecognised states to which Mahuset extended acknowledgement at its first full chamber session. The Confederation would go on to recognise a range of contested territories, from post-Soviet breakaway states to Catalonia.
