Lazia, 9 November 2016 — The Lazian Chamber has voted to recognise South Ossetia, recognising its sovereignty over the southern half of Ossetia.
South Ossetia was one of four post-Soviet breakaway states — with Abkhazia, Transnistria and Nagorno-Karabakh — recognised by the Lazian Chamber on the same November day. The Confederation would reverse all four recognitions in 2022, withdrawing them days after condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
